Watch Stranger Things’ Joseph Quinn Meet Metallica – and Jam Out to “Master of Puppets” with the band

It’s safe to say Eddie Munson’s dreams came true this week.

Joseph Quinnwhich plays heavy metal fan on Stranger Thingsnot only came to meet Metallica at Lollapalooza, but share a jam session for the song “Master of Puppets” with the band backstage. After all, Eddie had a pivotal scene on his head with that very number.

In a video shared on Metallica’s Instagram page on July 29, Joseph took viewers with him as he met the iconic group. And while it’s safe to say that Joseph (and his character Eddie) is fond of Metallica, the admiration is mutual. In the clip, James Hetfield told Joseph that he is a “huge fan” of the Netflix series.

“Has been since season one,” James shared. “My kids and I, it’s been a bonding experience for us.”

Regarding the subject of “Master of Puppets”, Joseph noted that he had the song on repeat for two years. He added: “I feel very connected to you.”

The actor became even more connected with the rockers when they asked him to “go jam” backstage. After shredding the six-string with the band, Joseph got a red guitar emblazoned with all their signatures.

And although the 29-year-old teased that he was “a bit rusty”, the group were more than impressed.

“You are hired,” Kirk Hammett joked. In the meantime Lars Ulrich looked at the camera and said, “We’d like to make an announcement. Metallica is now a five piece.”

While Eddie may no longer be a part of Corroded Coffin, Joseph’s days with Metallica are just beginning.
