European football is locked, clubs are losing millions … but bustling UEFA find the time to formally decide that Euro 2020 will keep its name (even though it will now be fully played in 2021!)

Fans kept scratching their heads on Friday after UEFA bizarrely announced they would still be calling their showpiece Euro 2020 despite being postponed for a year until 2021.

Earlier in the week, it was decided to postpone the summer tournament – which will now be played between June 11 and July 11 next year – due to the coronavirus pandemic that decimates the football calendar.

While UEFA currently has bigger things to do to ensure that the future of football remains intact due to the coronavirus pandemic, they have instead decided to let fans know that they will keep Euro 2020 as the name of the tournament .
