THREE THOUSAND YEARS LONGING Trailer

After the resounding success of my article showing the teaser for George Miller’s Tthree thousand years of longingthe trailer is finally here.

I judge the appetite for movies from the comments section, and I can no doubt feel that you Gentiles are gagging for this movie. Comments such as:

“Where are all the cool cars?”
“Hardly original and sounds like shit.”
“Miller has not done anything worth seeing for almost 40 years.”

So I just know that this trailer will send this article to the top of the LMO rankings and put me high up on a pedestal with my peers.

THREE THOUSAND YEARS LONGING Trailer

The story

The film is written by Miller and Augusta Gore and based on a short story by AS Byatt, and the film is centered on Dr. Alithea Binnie (Swinton), a scholar, loner and creature without family. After buying a memorial in Istanbul, which she is sure “has an interesting story”, Alithea finds herself in a hotel room with a djinn (Elba), who offers her three wishes in return for his freedom.

Since Alithea is a scholar of history and mythology, she knows all the warning stories of desires that have gone wrong. The jinn speaks for her cause by telling her amazing stories about her past. Eventually, she is seduced and makes a wish that surprises them both.

Three wishes

Personally, I think the movie seems to be a good bit of fun and a cross between Snyders 300 and Luhrmanns red Mill. I want to see it as I ponder what three wishes I could wish for … it does not involve having the ability to eradicate most of humanity with just a single click of the fingers.

And just so the comment field is a little more lively than the one with the teaser, what three wishes would you nerds wish for?

Tthree thousand years of longing is reissued on August 31st.

And if you do not want to see the trailer, at least check out the amazing song that is in it by a group called Suuns:
