The Flight Attendant Season 2, Episodes 3 and 4: Summary and Closing Explained: The stewardess is returning this week for more of Cassie’s madness. Her tumultuous start as a CIA activist only becomes more adventurous as her personal commitments stand in the way. We see some kind of unraveling in these two episodes. Cassie is still unsure of her perfect life and is slipping back into the old habits. She sticks to life while at the same time helping her friends and the CIA. Another interesting subplot involving Annie and Max shows cracks in their relationship, something we did not expect to go into it.

Megan is finally back to meet the demons of her past life. She is treading a very uncertain path to evade national governments and risk the good health of her family. It will be an emotional moment to see her meet her husband after betraying his trust. Read about our summaries for episodes 3 and 4 of The Flight Attendant’s season two!

STEVERINNEN (SEASON 2), SECTIONS 3 & 4:

EPISODE 3 – REJKYAVIK IS FESTIVAL

We start the third episode in Cassie’s neighbor’s house, just where the second episode ended. Diazes has tapped Cassie’s house to extract more information for their “mission”. Annie and Max’s conversation can be heard in the loudspeaker. The diazes then continue to put on a disguise by coloring their hair – ironically blonde. Cassie arrives at the house after sending Marco’s request to move in with him down the drain. Cassie’s next task is then to decipher Megan’s SOS message (which she received from her son) using her “palace of mind”. The result is this: “Urgent, best friend. Get the puffin ring for the Queen of Long Island (referring to Megan) in Reykjavik. Emergency”.

In an attempt to help Megan, Cassie breaks the rules (again) and leaves the house, despite being instructed by Dot to take a break. Although she is able to get on a flight by using her cunning and blackmailing a corrupt stewardess (Carol), she catches sight of Shane on the plane. She suspects this may not be a coincidence and that Shane will also check on Megan. Or even follow her. Cassie welcomes (or does not) a new participant to her palace. She is the Cassie who makes all the perfect decisions in her life and is as far away from problems as the real Cassie is closer to problems. Her sensible voice does not suit Cassie well, as she makes a list of places she and Megan visited in the city.

Stewardess section 3 4

As discussed in the previous section, Annie and Max get ready to meet his parents. As they enter, she takes off the ring, much to Max’s annoyance. In Iceland, we see our silly stewardess visiting all the places she had noted on her pad. She has brief flashbacks from all the times she spent partying and dancing in the clubs with Megan. Although there is some regret in these moments, she also misses the time when she had so much fun. Annie and Max arrive at their parents’ house, but so do the diazoans, who discuss “strengthening things” to speed up the process of completing their mission.

Unfortunately for Max, Annie’s interaction with her parents is awful. She gets overwhelmed as soon as Max’s mother mentions that she’s getting pregnant and adjusting to a life on the west coast. Cassie and Shane have dinner, where he reveals to her that he suspects she’s in trouble again. He rebukes the impulsive choices she makes, but also implicitly assures her of her protection. Cassie gets a message on her phone that someone is shopping from her credit card. The list of items purchased at the hardware store includes things like ropes, chains and duct tape.

The events really affect Cassie, who goes into a panic attack. When she sees the alcohol in her room, she struggles with her instincts to stay sober. She gets her stuff and tries to find a local AA meeting. By pure coincidence, Cassie stumbles upon a man who spoke to Megan last week. Annie and Max have a great fight. They quarrel about Annie’s episode in his parents’ house. Little do they know that the couple is waiting for them inside. They make them unconscious and prepare to bind them. Cassie, meanwhile, leaves Annie a voicemail about the second slide from View-Master – the German car – and its connection to the lake from the previous episode. Cassie finds Megan, but to her surprise – and confusion – she did not want Cassie to find her.

EPISODE 4 – BLUE WITH Greetings Reunion

There are two reunions happening inside Charlie’s bar: one, more emotional, between Cassie and Megan; the other, in a lighter spirit, between Miranda and Cassie. To diminish your memory, Cassie had texted Miranda to seek her help, expecting her to send an agent, not herself. Megan reveals that the North Koreans are sending spies to kill her and retrieve the evidence she has against the North Korean government. Charlie and Megan have a plan to use the mushrooms (from the first episode) to kill the agent. But Miranda’s intervention is necessary as Hak’s colleagues arrive to look for him.

Cassie, Miranda, Megan and her friend Charlie run from the bar as they arrive. They are hunted through the city, but they are able to escape. Miranda, who came back to the field operations for the thrill, drops Cassie and Megan back in LA and leaves forever. But we do not know for sure. Charlie and Megan understand their circumstances and thank each other for being their rock in these tough times.

Max and Annie are questioned by Diazes. These are some nervous moments as they show the arsenal of tools they need to get the answers from them. To everyone’s surprise, Diazes is actually after Megan, as she has a significant bounty on her head, and not Cassie. The Berlin connection made us all fool when we saw them in the lobby of the hotel where Cassie lived.

They discover that Megan is actually in Iceland and are preparing to go there to find her. After they leave, Annie and Max free the elderly couple next door and call the police. In a very short sequence at Echo Park, we see the blonde imitator walk away and wipe her bloody knife, indicating that she has murdered someone again. The things she bought in the hardware store are being used for this purpose. To protect her from the North Koreans, Cassie leaves Megan with her sponsor Brenda (from the AA meeting) for one night. She promises to meet her the next day. Cassie then meets Annie and Max and recognizes the man from a picture that Max clicked on while he was hostage.

STEVERINNEN (SEASON 2), END OF SECTIONS 3, 4:

Cassie decides that she must reveal all this to her handler, Benjamin, so that her name is cleared and the killer can be found. She walks into his office late at night when everyone has gone home again. She finds that he drinks a lot. It is revealed that the two bodies from the Park were in fact CIA analysts. Benjamin feels guilty about them. Cassie, despite the voice in her head saying she should go, stays back and sleeps with Benjamin. In that split second, she regrets all the good work from last year. Cassie’s perfect life can get out of control now and we can see her go into her state of self-destruction again.

FINAL THOUGHTS

For me personally, the ending of the fourth episode was heartbreaking. During the two episodes, Cassie struggles to fight the vices that have controlled her for so long. It seems almost impossible for her to resist the urge, but she does a good job. And finally, when she had to leave, she stays. After the mostly dull first two episodes, the combination of 3 & 4 really gets going. It reminds you of the high season where it became a necessity to watch the show. Cassie’s sudden revival has brought the show to the brink of binging again. But wait for the next summary of episode five a day later in the week!
