THE CROW Restart with Bill Skarsgård will actually start shooting this summer – GeekTyrant

After several years and a few unsuccessful attempts, a feature film restarts James O’Barr‘s The collar is actually on its way into production. The film starts shooting this summer in Prague and Germany.

The film is directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Hunter and Ghost in the shell). The manuscript is written by Zach Baylinwho was recently nominated for an Oscar for his work with King Richard.

Bill Skarsgård (That) has to take on the lead role, which is a bit funny because his brother Alexander Skarsgård was rumored to be playing The Crow almost ten years ago. The film also stars FKA Twigs (Honeyboy).

Skarsgård takes on the role of Eric Draven, and the story follows a man and his fiancée who are assaulted and killed by a gang after their car crashes. The man is resurrected by a crow and embarks on a dark journey in revenge for those who took his and his fiance’s lives.

Manager Corin Hardy (Saints, Nuns) was previously developing a restart of The collar, and he worked on it for years. Jason Momoa was set to star, and the film was about to go into production when it all just fell apart. Before director Stephen Norrington (Blade) was involved with one restart while F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the fall) and actor Luke Evans worked on another.

Manager Alex Proyas brought the story to the screen in the 1994s The collar, who starred the late Brandon Lee, and became a cult classic. That movie spawned several sequels. Fans of that movie have been very loud about the need for a restart. It will be interesting to see how well this film performs when it actually comes out.
