After being relegated from the championship in series one, series two begins with the club trying to reach their fan base prior to their League One campaign.
To do this, members of the first team help breathe new life into the Stadium of Light by installing new seats in one of the stands to replace the old faded ones.
Club legend Lee Catermole alongside teammates like Chris Maguire and Luke O’Nien all help out with volunteers as well. Sunderland owner Stewart Donald also comes to see how the work comes alone.
However, the idea is seen as a publicity stunt by subscriber holder Peter Farrer, although he admits he is being prompted to help restore the Black Cats’ location.

O’Nien, who was ribbed by some of the volunteers while removing and installing the seats, was full of praise for his volunteers.
“These guys did a great job. We have just come to show how grateful we are for what they have done, ”said the midfielder.
“We probably stopped them instead of actually helping them, but it’s nice to just meet them and say hello.”
