Warner Bros is set to go exhausting on 2022. After years of trailing behind Marvel Studios’ groundbreaking, box-office demolishing shared universe idea, it appears the studio is prepared to simply make it a numbers recreation. As such, they launched a teaser clip compiling parts of lots of their upcoming 2022 films and it’s a entire lot. At first, you have got megastar / someday Joe Rogan apologist Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, longtime foe of Zachary Levi’s Shazam. We see the previous slave and antihero in his uniform for the primary time, in addition to a protracted and swirling cape, trying very grim. In response to the 2019 film Shazam, he was the primary heir of the Wizard’s powers, and just about used them to slaughter folks. So we’ll see what occurs there. We additionally get our first have a look at Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, a gargantuan superhero along with his personal troubled historical past with Black Adam. Test it out right here:

In DC Comics, Noah Centineo’s Atom Smasher character is the godson of Al Pratt aka The Atom, a Golden Age superhero whose energy was that he was quick, however sturdy (issues have been less complicated then). Within the comics, The Atom was a member of DC’s authentic superhero workforce, The Justice Society of America, which might finally be succeeded by The Justice League of America, as seen in numerous variations of the movie. Justice League. Within the upcoming Black Adam movie, it seems that Atom Smasher is a member of the Justice Society; it isn’t at the moment identified whether or not The Atom will probably be referenced or seen within the movie. We do get a shot of Atom Smasher at about 48 seconds within the clip, towering over buildings. Presumably, he’ll come to blows with Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. Within the comics, the 2 have often been foes and simply as usually allies, with Black Adam’s magical powers typically getting the higher of Atom Smasher’s, uh, smashes.

Apart from Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, we additionally get a great have a look at Pierce Brosnan because the mystically powered superhero of the Justice Society of America, Dr. Destiny. We see Dr. Destiny aka Kent Nelson sporting his iconic golden helmet (which in comics continuity most frequently imbues him with the powers of the wizard Nabu, no relation to the wizard Shazam), and in addition with a severely hanging silver beard. As you would possibly count on from a James Bond, Brosnan has aged exceedingly nicely. The clip contains glimpses at Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and naturally, the character with essentially the most convoluted continuity in DC Comics, Hawkman. And that’s only a small slice of the various tasks that the DCEU is rolling out within the coming yr. Will probably be fascinating to see how Warner Bros’ new technique of dominating the superhero film market with overwhelming power will do towards the behemoth of the MCU, however as at all times, it’s anyway’s recreation with DC vs Marvel. Black Adam will probably be launched on July 29, 2022.
