Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen, 20, has been missing since April

The remains found Tuesday and Wednesday in the search for missing Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen were hidden under concrete, researchers revealed.

Texas Equusearch’s Tim Miller said attempts had been made to keep the body well hidden and it was only discovered after a man who worked in the area noticed a foul odor.

“It looks like he buried her, put lime on her, mixed concrete, put on her, put dirt on her, stones and stuff,” Miller said. I LOVE.

The investigation found its first evidence last week, leading them to believe that Guillen may have been around.

A photo of the site was first revealed on Wednesday when Miller announced they had found the lid of a Pelican storage case, prompting them to continue the search in the area.

A witness had previously said they saw a case being loaded into a car at around 8:30 PM, just before Guillen first disappeared in April.

The remains have not yet been confirmed as a missing soldier.

Fort Hood will hold a press conference Thursday afternoon to reveal more information.

The discovery was made when the military announced they were promoting Guillen despite her missing status.

She was promoted to Specialist on Monday.

The soldier’s family held an emotional press conference on Wednesday in which Guillen’s sister Mayra revealed that she met the suspect in her disappearance, who committed suicide when she was approached by police early on Wednesday morning.

“When I first went to that base, that topic, I didn’t know him knowing he had anything to do with it. I felt something told me he was doing something. He had the nerve to smile in my face that same day, and now he’s apparently committing suicide, “she said.

‘Why? I don’t know, but the person in charge has to pay. ‘

The family added that they think the suspect is the person who sexually harassed Guillen before disappearing.

The suspect in question died on Wednesday from a self-inflicted shot, after the police tried to bring him in.

He is described as a “young soldier who has fled his post,” but has not yet been identified.

Police are releasing information about suspects related to Vanessa Guillen’s disappearance

While details are still being collected by police regarding the Vanessa Guillen case, authorities have released the following information:

July 1: Fort Hood soldier commits suicide

Early Wednesday morning, a soldier believed to be linked to Guillen’s disappearance died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Killeen police said they tried to contact the soldier at around 1.29 a.m., but the man shot himself before he could be arrested.

July 1: Guillen family holds press conference

Guillen’s two sisters and their father held a press conference and demanded justice for their beloved who they say is dead.

The family said they believe the remains found on Tuesday are from Guillen.

During an emotional plea, the sisters called for a congressional investigation into Guillen’s case.

They also revealed that the suspect who shot himself early on Wednesday morning is believed to be the same man who sexually harassed Guillen before disappearing in April.

Authorities also announced the arrest of a woman who is the estranged wife of a former Fort Hood soldier.

The police did not say the nature of the relationship between the suspect who killed herself and the woman.

Police found him ten miles from Fort Hood, but as they got closer he pulled out a gun and shot himself, they report.

A second suspect is in custody, believed to be a civilian and the estranged wife of a former Fort Hood soldier. She has also not yet been identified.

It is not known if there is a connection between the two suspects, and the military has said it will release information as the Guillen family calls for the entire base to be closed and investigated.

The military has defended its decision not to release information by saying that “this could seriously jeopardize the accusation and successful prosecution of individuals.”

“We have made significant progress in this tragic situation and are committed to uncovering the truth,” they added in a statement to ABC Houston.

Remains were found for the second day in a row on Wednesday as the search for Guillen continued along the River Leon, about 20 miles from Fort Hood base.

Guillen’s family has said they believe their loved one is dead and that the soldier who killed her is the same person who inflicted a gun on himself when police attempted to contact him early Wednesday morning.

“We have a death because of sexual harassment,” said the family’s lawyer, Natalie Kahwam, at the beginning of the press conference.

Guillen was last seen at Fort Hood Army Base in Killeen, Texas on April 22 in a black t-shirt, light purple leggings and black Nike sneakers.

Her car keys, barracks room key, ID card and wallet were later found in the armory where she worked earlier in the day.

Texas EquuSearch volunteer group came across the remains in a secret area in Coryell County, not far from where the remains of the missing soldier Gregory Wedel-Morales were found on June 19.

Also known as Gregory Wedel, Morales was last seen on August 19, 2019 while driving his personal vehicle outside Fort Hood.

He was said to be fired within days of his disappearance, the military said.

A $ 25,000 reward is offered for information about his death. Morales disappeared about eight months before Guillen disappeared from the base and they are not thought to be related.

Two suspects were identified on Tuesday in Guillen’s case as one, a soldier at Fort Hood base who attempted to flee.

According to a statement from Killeen Police, authorities located the suspect in the 4700 block of East Rancier Avenue on Wednesday morning at around 1.29 a.m.

“While officers attempted to contact the suspect, the suspect showed a weapon and fired it at himself,” police said in the statement.

Authorities said the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the scene.

The second civilian suspect was arrested by Texas Rangers. She is currently being held in Bell County Jail pending charges by civil authorities.

The Guillen family says she accused an unnamed sergeant of sexually harassing her and claimed she felt unsafe before disappearing.

Khawam said Guillen once claimed that a superior hair came in while showering and another verbally abused her with vulgar comments in Spanish.

Last week, the Fort Hood army base launched an investigation into Guillen’s claims that a sergeant had sexually harassed her.
