Payments Earn ‘A-‘ For Enduring Chiefs; Chargers get ‘C+’ for nasty OT win over Broncos

Normally cheese will get higher with age, however one way or the other the Packers offense has gotten worse each week this season, and it arguably hit all-time low throughout Inexperienced Bay’s gorgeous 27-10 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday .

Aaron Rodgers may need to take into account taking his offense on an ayahuasca retreat, as a result of no matter this group is doing proper now, it’s not working.

Virtually as quickly as the sport began, the Packers offense seemed misplaced virtually each time it touched the ball. On its opening possession, the Packers went three-and-out, and issues solely bought uglier after that. Right here’s what occurred on their subsequent 9 possessions after the three-and-out: Punt, punt, blocked area purpose, punt, fumble, downs, area purpose, punt, blocked punt TD.

It’s one thing you’d anticipate to see from the Jets of previous, however actually not the Packers. One downside for Inexperienced Bay is that Rodgers doesn’t appear to belief his receivers. Final season, Rodgers had Davante Adams and each time a play broke down, he merely dumped it to Adams. This season, when the opposite staff will get strain on Rodgers, the play is actually lifeless as a result of he has nowhere to go, and the Jets are actually placing strain on him on this sport (they sacked Rodgers 4 occasions).

It additionally doesn’t assist that Rodgers hasn’t been as correct as he has been the final two years. Towards the Jets, Rodgers lacked the throws he would usually make, together with the cross under, which was underthrown by about 10 yards.

Total, Rodgers accomplished simply 26 of 41 passes in opposition to New York, and he additionally misplaced a fumble that led to a Jets area purpose.

One factor that would contribute to his accuracy points is that Rodgers seems to be coping with an injured thumb. He sprained his finger final week and it was positively nonetheless bothering him on Sunday.

If it’s an harm that doesn’t heal shortly, it received’t be simple for the Packers to repair their offense.

When the Packers can’t throw the ball, their offense can often nonetheless operate because of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, however now groups anticipate it. The Packers’ opponents appear conscious that the passing sport is off, and so they’re ready to cease the run.

Right here’s Jones getting hammered for a loss by Quinnen Williams.

That sort out was Inexperienced Bay’s floor sport in a nutshell Sunday. The Packers averaged simply 3 yards per carry. carry in opposition to the Jets.

For as soon as, the Packers may truly be in hassle. At 3-3, the Packers have now scored 15 or fewer factors in three of their six video games, and there’s no simple approach to repair the offense. If Inexperienced Bay can’t repair that quickly, the staff’s three-year reign atop the NFC North will come to an finish.

Okay, let’s get to the grades for every sport from Week 6. In the event you’re in search of a deeper dive on the Commanders’ 12-7 win over Chicago performed final Thursday, remember to click on right here.
