Party of Legends travels to the West this summer

Rabbids: Party of Legends, the latest game featuring Ubisoft’s raving Rabbids, will hit the state’s side on June 30, following a release in August 2021 in China. The game follows a quartet of rabbis who end up in the realm of Chinese mythology after a ride through the washing machine, a fitting backdrop for a set of 50 mini-games, perfect for a local multiplayer shindig.

The announcement of The party of legends‘quick release comes out of the left field as there had been no indication that this Ubisoft Chengdu-developed game would ever come out of its home country. The game relies on images and references to the classic Journey to the West tale, something that does not translate so well into the United States and other Western territories. Either way, fans of festivals and those who enjoy the unique screams of these chaotic rabbits should rejoice.

Not only is Rabbids: Party of Legends hits west, but it extends beyond its original console home on the Switch. In addition to the Nintendo console, the game will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Google Stadia. It’s unclear at the moment how some of the motion-focused mini-games from the original game will translate to more traditional platforms, but this is not the first time that a motion-control game has taken the leap to the gamepad.

Rabbids: Party of Legends is not going to sell gangbusters, but it may gain fame simply due to lack of competition in June, a time when many companies chose to hype their major holiday releases rather than release new games. Speaking of which, this new festival game can remind Nintendo gamers that they have another one Rabbider adventures on the horizon as they eagerly awaited Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is scheduled for release before April 1, 2023.
