Barcelona legend Rivaldo believes this is the right time to sell the Frenchman in the summer
“He’s still a player with enormous potential, but I think this summer Barcelona could be the right opportunity to sell or even trade him for a player they’re already chasing.”
The Brazilian admitted that the attacker is struggling with setbacks, but thinks he will struggle to make his way to the team if Barca’s hunt for Neymar and Lautaro Martinez is successful.
“He was unlucky with injuries, but he may have tried to give more.
“Things have not gone as expected and he may be able to revive his career at another club where he is more confident to play at his best.
Liverpool and Arsenal are linked to the 22-year-old who is still recovering from an injury
“Barcelona seems to be trying to sign Neymar and Lautaro Martinez, so Dembele will likely struggle to get into the first team next season.
In addition, Barcelona would have to downsize his squad and make some money if they really want to succeed in getting their current goals. To draw new players, others must leave. ‘
Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked to a move for the 22-year-old, which Barca thought he wanted about £ 52 million.
Dembele sustained a muscle injury in the Catalan Champions League clash with Dortmund in November, which was expected to keep him out for two months.
But a setback on his return to training means he’s likely to be on the sidelines until August depending on when football resumes.
