The street in direction of OnePlus and Oppo’s unified working system has been a rocky one to this point. After the previous firm was principally relegated to a sub-brand of the latterOnePlus customers who have been anxious in regards to the destiny of OxygenOS have been informed that it might be merging with ColorOSwith the ensuing unified OS coming in a future flagship. Latest rumors steered that this new platform be touchdown with Android 13 later this 12 months, presumably taking the place of the OxygenOS 13 we’d in any other case anticipate. However now OnePlus is holding a web-based occasion to talk with customers about … OxygenOS 13?
A brand new Open Ears Discussion board – the primary one this 12 months – might be held to listen to customers’ opinions on its upcoming software program (noticed by XDA). It’s really a curious occasion, if you concentrate on it – Open Ears occasions are usually held to speak particular issues like new options in upcoming updates, however to not talk about the replace itself. OnePlus would possibly really be trying to hear what folks need to say in regards to the route its software program goes so as to get a greater concept of find out how to strategy the replace that follows OxygenOS 12, whether or not that’s a continuation of its present platform or the brand new unified OS . The discussion board announcement is even open about it – it’s inviting you to “co-create an ideal OxygenOS.”
As a refresher, the OnePlus Nord 2 launched with a taste of OxygenOS 11 that borrowed some components of ColorOS, whereas the replace to Android 12 is extending that to older units. This 12 months’s OnePlus 10 Professional was alleged to launch with the unified OS, rumored to be known as H₂OOSbut it’s working ColorOS 12.1 in China and all indicators are pointing to it launching with OxygenOS 12 globally.
We’re going to have to attend and see in a couple of months, however proper now, the software program technique over at OnePlus has by no means appeared muddier. If you wish to weigh into the dialog, be sure to use to take part within the Open Ears Discussion board.
