Nightwing’s war begins and fables return in this week’s DC releases
The battle for Blüdhaven’s heart begins on Tuesday for DC Comics.
Written by Tom Taylor with art by Bruno Redondo leading the week with DC’s new releases Natvinge # 92. Since the creative team took over the title with Natvinge # 78, they have increased the reach of Dick Grayson’s heroism by making him a wealthy philanthropist without the mask giving back to his adopted city through the Alfred Pennyworth Foundation. However, not everyone in Blüdhaven is a fan of Dick’s altruistic efforts, especially Roland Desmond alias Blockbuster, the city’s leading crime boss. The upcoming issue will kick-start the battle for the city, though it’s not the only title to be aired from DC next week.
After almost a year since it was first announced, Fables finally returns. The series, which was previously part of DC’s Vertigo imprint, originally ran in 150 issues from 2002 to 2015, but now it’s back again through DC’s mature imprint, DC Black Label. Collects where Fables # 150 escaped and is led by author Bill Willingham and artist Mark Buckingham, Fables # 151 begins a 12-piece comeback for the title.
Other notable mentions for Tuesday’s releases include one-shot Shadow War Zone # 1, the penultimate chapter of Wonder Woman: Evolution and the next part by author Mark Waid and artist Dan Moras Batman / Superman: The finest in the world.
