NBK will discuss “energy” and “Zayed Housing” policy next Tuesday

The Federal National Council, chaired by the President of the Council, Saqr Ghobash, will hold its eleventh session of the third ordinary session of the seventeenth parliamentary term, on Tuesday, May 24, at Zayed Hall in the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, where it will discuss the two issues of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure Policy and the policy of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program.

At its meeting, the Council will discuss the report of the Committee on Islamic Affairs, Legislation and Public Supply, which it has prepared on the subject of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure Policy on the following topics: The Ministry’s role in the implementation, management, operation and maintenance of federal infrastructure projects and public utilities to achieve their sustainability, the federal road network and regulation of its use and utilization, and dam channels and federal buildings.

It also discusses the topic of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program’s policy in accordance with the axes of the program’s strategy to meet citizens’ current and future housing needs, the program’s strategy for providing and developing a sustainable and innovative housing environment, the program’s support policy and financial deduction for beneficiaries, and the programme’s efforts in coordination with the relevant authorities and the private sector in the field of housing.

According to the agenda of the session, the Council must refer the draft laws received from the government to the Committee on Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs, where it submits to the committee a draft federal law amending some provisions of Federal Decree-Law No (26). of 2019 regarding public finances, a draft federal law on cooperatives and a draft federal law in Regarding the approval of the consolidated final accounts of the association (consolidated accounts) for the financial year ending 31 December 2021.

The Council will also discuss the presentation of the recommendations of the Committee on Education, Culture, Youth, Media and Sport on the subject “Policy of the Ministry of Culture and Youth” and the report of the recommendations of the Health and Environment Committee. on the topic “Policy of the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection on the promotion of mental health in the United Arab Emirates.”

The Federal National Council is informed of the international agreements and treaties concluded by the Government, which is Federal Decree No. 47 of 2022, which ratifies an agreement between the State Government and the Government of the Republic of Iraq to promote and protect investment, and Federal Decree No. 48 of 2022, which ratifies a bilateral agreement to promote and protect investment between the Government and the Government of Jersey, and Federal Decree No (49) of 2022, which ratifies an agreement between the Government and the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to avoid double taxation and the prevention of income tax evasion, and Federal Decree No (50) of 2022 ratifying an agreement between the Land Government and the Kingdom of Belgium on extradition.
