Marvel Studios’ newest streaming collection has began with a bang on Disney +. The present stars Iman Vellani because the 16-year-old Kamala Khan, an Avengers superfan who lives in New Jersey and who involves inherit a mysterious bracelet that appears to permeate her with cosmic superpowers. After all, Vellani himself is sort of a fan of MCU and has not been shy about sharing his theories and sizzling pictures concerning the franchise.

Since 2021, the MCU has developed a multi-project historical past arc centered on parallel universes. As established in Physician Unusual within the multiverse of insanity, the first MCU known as Earth-616. That is the universe the place all motion has taken place for the reason that 2008s Iron Man. Now the universe wherein the Marvel wallets happen is also called Earth-616. In supplementary supplies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe had the designation Earth-199999, however Physician Unusual the successor apparently restored this.

The entire thing could be a little complicated for followers who aren’t so attentive. However there may be one exceptional fan who seems so intently: Iman Vellani himself.

Iman Vellani on the Earth 616 Debate

Chatting with Deadline, Ms. Marvel actress Iman Vellani shared his ideas on why Marvel Cinematic Universe’s true Multiversal designation is definitely Earth-19999:

“I’ve this quarrel with Kevin [Feige] each single time I see him in individual. It’s not 616. The MCU is decided 199999. It’s 5 nines. And all of this occurred as a result of Kevin Feige made a joke in an interview about how lengthy MCU would stand for, and he mentioned, ‘199999 years.’ However we’d like a quantity, and you cannot take it from Marvel’s cartoon cannon, as a result of it was like an important cartoon cannon, the place all the key occasions came about. “

Vellani went on to elaborate on the distinction whereas naming Mysterio. Devotees will keep in mind that Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, created issues for Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Removed from dwellingall of the whereas claiming to be from an alternate universe and arriving at “Earth-616” because of a battle with an elemental being.

Vellani criticized the “Earth-616” line, saying that designation shouldn’t have been one thing Beck was acquainted with when he was “jyou might be an actor: “

“And in that cannon, Kamala is an inhuman, and there’s Lockjaw. Home of M came about with X-Males. The place’s all that within the MCU, if it’s 616, huh ‘? … I’ll relaxation my case. Additionally, how does Mysterio … why was Mysterio in MCU proper round 616 as a result of he talked about it. Why ought to he know something? He’s simply an actor. “

The actress additionally famous that the comedian Kamala Khan will need to have her personal adventures on Earth-616 in print: “There’s within the 616 universe! Within the comics, sure. Proper now you get what you get.”

Kamala Khan within the multiverse of insanity

There’s a lot to interrupt down in Iman Vellani’s feedback. To start with, on the pages of Marvel Comics, the MCU was really categorized as Earth-199999. This data was listed in formally printed guidebooks and the like. When Physician Unusual 2 launched, this concept was turned the wrong way up. Throughout Unusual and America Chavez’s journey to Earth-838, the viewers was knowledgeable that the couple’s authentic universe, the first MCU, is Earth-616, flying within the gentle of previous data.

It’s value noting that the title of Earth-616 may presumably be one thing that was strictly solely utilized by Baxter Basis scientists in reference to the movie and never the precise Multiversal classification.

To maneuver on, Mysterio labeled the universe he claimed to have landed on as Earth-616, however he was removed from “simply an actor” as Vellani claimed. Quentin Beck was portrayed as a particularly clever scientist and inventor. He additionally had a complete workforce of individuals behind him to assist promote the story and the phantasm of Mysterio to trick “Nick Fury” and Peter Parker into handing over management of the harmful EDITH protocols. It’s not a lot of a stretch to say that Beck labored with some top-minded individuals who deduced that the MCU may really be Earth-616.

None of that is to discredit Vellani, who’s clearly an enthusiastic and avid fan with the most effective of intentions and a wealth of Marvel information. It is extremely potential that from a cosmic perspective, the Marvel Cinematic Universe could also be often known as each Earth-19999 and Earth-616. And as Marvel Studios continues to dive into the multiverse, extra solutions will certainly be revealed.
