Huawei CEO Conducts Meeting with Minister Shafqat to Discuss Future of 5G

The CEO of Huawei Technologies Pakistan, Mark Meng met with the Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood to negotiate on various issues of mutual interest in his office. Both the Federal Education Minister and CEO of Huawei also shared views on 5G technology and its future, numerous training programs, and partnerships in many other sectors.

Huawei Technologies Pakistan is also operating with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to set up 20+ Haina Labs for training, DWDM networking, video conferencing for 100+ universities, and smart classroom project.

Lately, it has also granted  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Minister, and the latter admired the donation by Huawei Technologies Pakistan.

Shafqat Mehmood appreciated the services and participation of the company in Pakistan. Minister repeatedly emphasized to enhance the collaboration with Huawei for educational and professional training in various sectors. The meeting was a successful one for both parties as it catered to mutual interest, trust, and warmth by both sides.

Prior to this meeting,  the CEO Meng conducted a meeting with the Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and IT Secretary Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui. During the meeing, Mark announced that Huawei is going to support the Government’s Digital Pakistan initiative.

The company would also assist in moving towards a  knowledge-based economy with trending technologies such as 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to the CEO, these technologies will support Pakistan in opening new ways of growth and innovation.
