How To Have A Great Experience When Going To A Music Festival Alone!

Are you struggling to convince your friends
or family to accompany you to an upcoming music festival? If so, you don’t have
to miss out. You should still go to any festival or music event that you are
interested in attending. You just need to prepare to embrace the world
surrounding you and get ready for a liberating adventure.
Here are some of my top tips for having the
best time when attending a music festival by yourself:
#1
Keep a positive mindset.
Your attitude towards attending a music
festival alone and your mentality are very important. You need to be clear in
your head that you are going to the event by yourself because you want to – not
because of a fear of missing out (FOMO). Keeping a positive
mindset from the get-go will dictate the tone for this rest of the experience.
By arriving at a music festival and being genuinely happy to be there,
everything else will fall into place. With everything you do, you should
remember that you doing it because you really want to.
#2
Don’t have any exceptions.
You will be setting yourself up for
disappointment if you turn up to an event expecting it to be all bells and
whistles and that you will have crazy adventures. You need to leave
expectations behind, so you don’t have a bad time if things don’t go as you
envisioned. Learn to be happy that you got to the festival and that you had the
tenacity to attend alone. Most people that go to festivals are nice and there’s
awesome music; good experiences will unfold if you make way for them. Don’t
rush yourself.
#3 Be Yourself.
Do you know what one of the best things
about attending a music festival alone is? You get to set your own schedule.
You are free to do whatever you desire and for as long as you want. Do you want
to watch your favorite band for two hours straight? Do it! In the mood for
experiencing a selection of different bands instead? Do that! You can control
your world, so go to the dance floors you want to.
#4
Share positive energy.
Embrace who you are and where you are, as
well as everything you’re doing. Positive energy is infectious so share your
good vibes! Smile at everyone, be excited, maintain a good mindset; other
people will naturally gravitate towards you. If you look like your having the
time of your life, chances are others will be desperate to join you.
#5
Be confident.
When you are confident, you will find that
other people are attracted to you and making new friends will be easy. When you
are less confident, you will not be as magnetic to people and making friends
will be challenging. You don’t have to be a naturally outgoing person to act
confident, you can pretend. Just breathe deeply, collect your thoughts and
start saying hello to strangers. You can make comments about their outfits or
dances moves, or you could just tell them you wanted to say “hello”
as they give off a good vibe. Don’t overthink it, just do it! You’ll be
surprised by how many strangers open up when you invite them – a stranger is
often just a friend you haven’t met yet.
#6
Learn to feel content with being alone.
Being alone at a music event can be fun and
liberating, but at the end of the day, you are alone. It is likely that you may
find yourself having twangs of loneliness, particularly when walking around and
seeing groups of close friends together. During those moments, you need to
remember that you made the decision to attend alone because you wanted to.
Maybe the situation is not ideal, but your in it and it’s good. So, take a
second to reflect, breath, clear your mind and solider on. Your inner adventurer
is calling.
#7
Be patient.
You can’t rush things – you need to let
your experience at a festival manifest naturally. Use the first hour or so at
the festival to get familiar with the surroundings – locate the water stations,
identify the best stages, go to the band meet and greets before lines get long.
Lots of good experience will unfold naturally, don’t rush them. Stress is never
a good way to start any experience.
#8
Bring Gifts
A helpful idea is to bring something with
you that can be easily shared with others to make everyone’s experience better.
A gift can take many multiple forms, it could be face paint, a musical
instrument, bubbles, a costume, wigs, etc. Unleash your creative side and take
a look at Premier
Glow, there are endless possibilities. “Gifts” are always
good conversation starters, you might be surprised at how many people are drawn
to you by your “attractions”. Furthermore, you can keep yourself
entertained with the items during times when you find yourself alone.
