- The harmless hunter spider could be seen crawling above the handlebars
- Screeching with fear, the woman pulled into Sydney traffic to film the arachnid
Hilarious footage shows the moment when a woman leaves her Mazda in the middle of traffic and promises to set the car on fire after finding a large hunting spider inside.
The video, uploaded Tuesday by Sydney Tik Tok user truthinlove44, began as the non-venomous arachnid crawled over the window next to the driver’s seat.
The young driver filmed the eight-legged creature standing in front of the passenger window at night in the middle of the road.
“I’m going crazy now, look at that crazy spider,” she said. “I literally had to jump out of my car.”

The woman couldn’t control her fear and let out a series of high-pitched screams as the spider made its way across the inner roof and towards her.
“I’m in the middle of the road and yuck,” she shouted, panicking, turning the camera to reveal a busy main road.
“I’m going to set my car on fire and just, I’m going to burn this car and walk home because I can’t, I can’t, I can’t handle.”
Hordes of international social media users flocked to the comments section to condemn Australia and its spiders, while others shared their own experiences.
‘Two weeks ago I had a similar experience. I cried and started doing my frightened spider dance for ALDI, ‘one woman wrote.

“This happened to me with a little spider and I almost crashed,” said another.
Some users shared her fear and another was concerned that passers-by could not check on the stranded woman.
‘I thought you were INSIDE the car lol, I almost had a stroke when I saw that’ wrote one user.
“The fact that you are literally standing outside your car in the middle of the road and no one has checked you,” laughed one woman.
But other Australians pointed out that hunter spiders are not dangerous.

‘As an Australian I never understand why other Australians are afraid of spiders. Like it literally won’t hurt you, ”someone else said.
On Wednesday, the woman uploaded a second video, explaining that the arachnid had left the vehicle alone.
“The spider crawled out of the window to the outside of the car on the roof, and off the roof, he basically just jumped up the road and ran across the road.”
She safely returned to her position behind the wheel and drove home without setting the vehicle on fire.
“I didn’t have to burn my car, even though I was more than willing and willing to set that car on fire if I had to, I’m really lucky I didn’t.”
The woman added that the spider was likely looking for a new home and urged Sydney siders to “ be careful. ”
