Girls’ Generation cancels this week’s music show promotions after Seohyun is diagnosed with COVID-19 – newsdubai

Girls’ Generation has canceled their music show promotions scheduled for this week due to Seohyun testing positive for COVID-19.

On August 9, Girls’ Generation announced that Seohyun had been diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier that day and had temporarily stopped all her activities.

As a result, the group had no choice but to cancel their scheduled appearances on the upcoming August 11 episode of Mnet’s “M Countdown” and the August 14 episode of SBS’s “Inkigayo,” which would have marked their first music show- promotions as a group in five years.

Girls’ Generation’s full statement is as follows:

Hello.

Seohyun was diagnosed with COVID-19 today (August 9).

Therefore, Seohyun immediately stopped all her scheduled activities and is currently receiving treatment and rest, and Girls’ Generation’s music show promotions scheduled for this week (“M Countdown”, “Inkigayo”) have inevitably been canceled. We ask for fans’ understanding.

Thank you.

Meanwhile, Seohyun took to Instagram Stories to personally apologize to her fans and bandmates following the announcement.

Seohyun wrote, “ZONE [Girls’ Generation’s fan club]who must have waited for our campaigns more eagerly than anyone else … and my [Girls’ Generation] unnies [older sisters or female friends]… Sorry. I was healthy so I didn’t think I would get that [COVID-19]… but eventually I ended up catching it. I’m really so disappointed and feel so sad… I’ll get well soon, let’s meet in good health on the day of next week’s music show!”

Last week, Girls’ Generation made their first comeback as a full group with their seventh studio album “FOREVER 1” and its title track of the same name.

I wish Seohyun the speediest recovery!
