Get ready to groove, with the electrifying Afro beats of D. Policy’s latest EP “Afro Map”

Malaysia based multi-talented singer, Obakpolor Esemuede , popularly known as D. Policy, is all set to give his listeners, yet another reason to get onto the dance floor, with his latest EP release, “Afro Map”.

“Afro Map” is a body of work that includes 8 rocking songs- Samba, Oganubia, Samantha, Turn-up, Girl like You, Your Promise, JorJor, and Where. Each song is a masterpiece in itself that will make you leave wanting for more. The reason for naming this EP as “Afro Map” is the sound and vibe behind it. All the tracks have different stories and messages behind them, especially “JorJor”, which is a true-life story of D. Policy, and he feels fortunate enough to be able to feature one of the greatest DJs and vocalists in Malaysia, Darling Sabrina. “Afro Map” is a map that D. Policy has designed for his listeners to follow, so that they can unveil what he wants to express via his music.

“I started doing music because I love music and my passion for music started growing stronger day by day. I was a backup singer in the Church and I knew I could contribute more to the music industry”, says D. Policy telling about his love for music. D. Policy has always believed in himself and followed his passion; this is what led him to all the success and fame that he has today.

D. Policy started his singing career officially in 2017, even after facing a lot of rough patches in life-related to his health. He was put into a position where doctors asked him never to sing again due to his throat, which used to pain every time he talked, let alone sing. But once he decided that music is something that he can never give up on, there was no looking back for him. All that he has today is because of his dedication, hard work, and commitment towards music.

D. Policy doesn’t like to confine himself to a particular genre of music; for him, it is all about the vibe. But his songs are mostly an amalgamation of Afrobeat, Afro-pop, Reggae, Hip Hop and others.

To make the release of his EP “Afro Map” more interesting, D. Policy came up with an innovative idea to start a dance challenge, that somehow is becoming very famous on all social media platforms. To participate, the participants need to dance on any one song of the EP, and upload it under the hashtag #AfroMapDanceChallenge. 8 winners will be announced and would be rewarded with a cash prize of N160, 000.
