Dream Casting: 9 actors / idols we think would be perfect for the upcoming K-Drama adaptation of the popular romance webtoon “Back to You”

One of the most popular Korean webtoons ever, “Back to You” by the author Tax B finally gets a K-Drama adaptation and joins an incredible list of webtoons that have been announced and confirmed to be adapted for live-action content such as dramas and movies.

“Back To You”, also known as “Just A Girl He Knows”, is a time-lapse romantic webtoon that tells the story of HaYoung, a modest young girl who is convinced that it is the boy who keeps going to appear in her dreams. she is destined to be with. This boy is JaeHyun, a popular classmate and neighbor who seems to notice everyone except her. For JaeHyun, HaYoung is not a friend or a lover, but rather just a girl he knows, and that apparently indifference is enough to deter HaYoung from approaching him. Nevertheless, JaeHyun is HaYoung’s first love, and her heart remains unchanged.

Years later, HaYoung continues to be plagued by the same dream every November. After spending his late teens either studying or thinking about JaeHyun, HaYoung was never really aware of himself. At the moment, however, she is a confident office worker with a pretty good look. She has moved on in life, whether it’s in terms of love and relationships or something else, but JaeHyun is no more. He died in an accident on a rainy day, and the last time she saw him is the scene that keeps returning to her in her dreams.

Either way, HaYoung does her best to live diligently, even if it means going on blind dates she’s not really interested in. On a date like this, which her best friend EunJu has set up, HaYoung meets Min EunJae, a former high school senior. When he insists on following her home, they board a bus and remember their first loves.

The next day, instead of being alone on JaeHyun’s day of death, HaYoung meets EunJae to share a few drinks. As the alcohol takes over, she ends up confessing everything about her first love, a boy she knew, her crush, JaeHyun, whom she dreams of every November. On the way home, with HaYoung drunk and EunJae barely holding her, they encounter the cherry blossom tunnel again. However, there is something strange in the dark that makes the bus crash.

HaYoung wakes up in a hospital bed with her mother by her side, but the year is over 2009, a time when JaeHyun was still alive. As it turns out, both EunJae and her had traveled back in time with all their memories intact. Shortly after, HaYoung runs into JaeHyun and reminds her of the deep regret she felt about not having prevented JaeHyun from getting on the bus that day.

With a new chance at life, fully aware of the future that awaits, HaYoung decides to change fate, both for himself and JaeHyun.

For fans of webtoon comes the news of an adaptation with high expectations, especially for the leading actors. With these expectations in mind, we selected 9 actors / idols who we think would fit perfectly with the roles of HaYoung, JaeHyun and EunJae. Vote for your vote in the polls below!

Yoon HaYoung

Despite being timid and introverted as a high school student, HaYoung shows excellent character development throughout the web tone, especially as she travels back in time. The new HaYoung is brave, open-mouthed and does not hesitate to stand up for the right thing. We think (G) I-DLE’s MiYeon, Park EunBin and Ryu HyeYoung would be incredible in the role of Yoon HaYoung.

Lee JaeHyun

JaeHyun is a conscientious, sensible and mature person. He is popular, yet lonely, mostly because he does not open up to others so easily. However, has a heart of gold and is a true friend. Jang DongYoon, SF9s Chani and Kang Daniel would be able to fulfill the complexity of JaeHyun’s character wonderfully.

Min Eun Jae

EunJae is the reliable best friend we all love and cherish. He is understanding, warm, rational and has extraordinary images. His relationship with HaYoung is more special than we are led to believe, so prepare for some serious second (?) Syndrome. We believe, WOODZ, Kim WooSeok (“Military Prosecutor Doberman”, “Rookie Cops”) and Choi HyunWook would be the perfect Min EunJae.

Note: The goal of the poll is for Kpopmap readers to share their views on their cast preference. It does not affect the cast of the production team.
