Daniel Craig has known no time to die for 15 years
Daniel Craig has revealed that he was sitting on the explosive end of his 007 swan song, No time to dieas long as 15 years. SPOILERS incoming as the film ends with a hugely shocking twist that kills Craig’s repeat of James Bond in an epic fashion while the iconic spy sacrifices himself to save his newfound family. In another companion book No time to dieTaschen’s ‘James Bond Archives’, Craig has revealed that this was always the plan where the actor stated that he had always wanted his version of the character to end up dying.
“When I started as Bond Royal Casinoone of the early discussions I had with Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G. Wilson] was that I would like to be killed when I’m done. “
Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, starring Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas , and Rami Malek with Daniel Craig, No time to die picks up five years after the conquest of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, with James Bond has now left active service. He is contacted by Felix Leiter, his friend, and a CIA officer, who gets his help searching for Valdo Obruchev, a missing scientist. As it becomes clear that Obruchev was abducted, Bond must confront a danger the world has never seen before.
The film ends in a hugely dramatic, very surprising way, as Bond becomes infected by the villain Safin with a vial containing nanobots programmed to kill love-loving Madeleine and their daughter Mathilde. After murdering himself through a myriad of minions before killing Safin, Bond decides to allow himself to die thanks to numerous missiles that have been trained at Bond’s location. Saying goodbye to Madeleine and Mathilde gives the heartbreaking events a final end to Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond unlike anyone in the longtime franchise before.
The ending came as a shock to audiences, Bond fans and critics, and knowing it Daniel Craig has been sitting on this secret ever since first appeared in Royal Casino far back in 2006 is certainly impressive, suggesting that Craig might have even made a pretty good spy.
No time to die of course, includes Craig’s last outing as James Bond, in which the actor recently admitted that he will fight when another actor takes his place. “I thought [Spectre] was it. And I’m really, really glad I got the chance to come back and do it [No Time to Die], because in a way we’ve finished many of the stories, “Craig said.” And just a chance to come and make one more was wonderful … It’s been incredible to make these films. It’s very emotional. I’m glad I’m ending it on my own terms. I’m grateful to the manufacturers for letting me do that. But I definitely miss it. I’ll probably get incredibly bitter when the new person takes over. “
No Time to Die is scheduled to be released on DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK on December 20, 2021 and in the US on December 21, 2021. This is coming to us via Yahoo.
