Emirates Stadium will be thoroughly cleaned after Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis has confirmed that he contracted the corona virus.

Four staff members and a small group of Arsenal players from the first team have been self-insulated until Thursday evening after the postponement of their game in Manchester City.

The decision comes after Marinakis, who was at Emirates Stadium 13 days ago for the Europa League game between the two clubs, said he was infected with Covid-19.

That evening, Marinakis was in various parts of the stadium, including the boardroom, tunnel and dressing room.

And Arsenal has committed to thoroughly cleaning the stadium, although the club insists that such action has been a regular occurrence since the corona virus outbreak.

Sportsmail also understands that Arsenal officials will contact the hosts of all tables in the boardroom, an area where Marinakis roamed freely that night, to inform them of the situation and provide advice.

The Gunners are confident that the staff and the players who isolate themselves will get it all clear, and no one will show any symptoms.

Those individuals in question have not been tested for the virus.

Anyone who has come into contact or who has been within two meters of Marinakis for more than 15 minutes, including anyone sitting next to him in the directors box, has been advised to isolate themselves.

Obviously, Marinakis was not attending the traditional pre-game UEFA dinner the night before the game, as he arrived on the day of the game.

But he did meet with Arsenal executives an hour before the race and was in close contact with several drivers before and during the race.
