Andre Ricks & GYBLV Host Girls Youth Basketball Camp with Over 100 Campers in Attendance

Andre Ricks former Division 1 Guard and current owner of RAWiMPACT Sports teams up with Girls Youth Basketball Non-profit Organization to host girls basketball camp that focus on fundamentals, footwork, and the details of the game of basketball.

The camp was held at the RAWiMPACT Sports Facility and consisted of two segments; 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM for 3rd – 5th graders and 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM for 6th – 8th graders. The camp was full to capacity with more than 100 campers in attendance.

Andre Ricks knows it is important to teach the proper fundamentals to the youth. “Fundamentals of basketball are the MOST important thing to master because they will make you and your team better no matter what age level. The fundamentals of basketball are the foundation for every individual player, offensively and defensively. The best players have perfected the basics fundamentals of the game.

Learning and mastering these basics make the rest of the game much easier!
Coaches at every level agree that fundamentals are important. However, not very many coaches devote practice time actually working on fundamentals, especially once players are beyond the beginning level of the game. In order to be effective in basketball coaching, coaches need to get back to basics and make sure their players work on fundamentals every practice and training sessions.”
