The newly launched Quibi is a streaming service with shows meant to be watched in short bursts everywhere – and at least that’s true for Fortnite. Today sees a temporary promotion in which the Quibi reboots from the prank show Punk’d, hosted by Chance the Rapper, airs hourly in Risky Reels, the drive-in theater FortniteIs an island. (Although it doesn’t seem like you can rotate the screen, a core feature of Quibi.)
It’s a strange kind of cross promotion, but it’s also something that is increasingly common Fortnite. In December, J.J. Abrams dropped in in-game to show off a clip from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and there have been other promotions for all of it Birds of prey to Borderlands. The game is currently in the middle of a takeover of Deadpool.
The Quibi event is expected to last only one day. It is currently unknown whether a Chance skin will follow.
