World of Women Galaxy NFT Collection Hits $79 Million in 24 Hours by BTC Peers

Over the weekend, World of Women released a new Galaxy collection and it wasn’t long before it sold out.

The collection of 22,222 female avatars generated $79 million within the first 24 hours of launch. This includes $34 million in primary sales of the coin and $45 million in secondary market sales.

The WoW Foundation, which promotes opportunities for women in the growing Web3 and metaverse space, will receive a share of World of Women Galaxy’s primary and secondary profits.

Since its launch, the series has become the most traded NFT collection according to CryptoSlamdata with $64 million in secondary sales, on top of other notable PFP collections such as Azuki, Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club.

The original World of Women collection contains 10,000 unique profile photos, each with random attributes.

Original holders of the collectibles are allowed to claim one NFT for free, while 2,222 NFTs have been made available for the admission list at a discounted rate “to welcome other communities and supporters to the WoW family.”

The remaining 10,000 Galaxy NFTs were launched to the public on Saturday through a Dutch auction that started at 3 ETH (about $9,300) and gradually declined until the offer was sold out.

The World of Women NFT collection has been on the rise since the beginning of the year, with many celebrities and brands scrambling to own one. Last month, KPMG Canada spent $70,000 on a piece from the collection. Meanwhile, Women’s World announced that actress Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production studio would develop TV shows and movies based on the NFT project, while Jazzware invested in a toy production license for the project.
