Virginia Roberts has rejected the decision to edit Prince Andrew’s name from the recently released court documents in the Ghislaine Maxwell case.
Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sex slave, now Virginia Giuffre, 37, who has said she was forced to have sex with the Duke of York at the age of 17, said she is “ very upset ” about the decision.
The unsealed court records of a 2016 impeachment show told Maxwell he should offer a reward to anyone who could discredit Ms. Giuffre after she accused them of rape.
Maxwell, 58, had fought to keep the 465-page statement hidden before a court ordered its release.

The names of all those in Epstein’s circle, including Prince Andrew, were redacted into the 465-page statement that Maxwell, 58, fought tooth and nail to keep under control before a court ordered it released.
But speaking in her adopted hometown of Cairns in far north Queensland, the American Ms. Giuffre, pleased that the documents had been unsealed, said she wondered why several names, including the Prince’s, were redacted.
She said ABC: ‘I feel very angry.
“I don’t understand why we protect someone who hides behind Mommy’s skirt and says, ‘I didn’t do it’. His name should have been there in the statement. ‘
She also said she was shocked that a 14-year-old girl’s name was not included in the documents.
Maxwell insisted that she does not remember that Virginia had ever been with her in London, and not at her mansion. They are shown together in 2001 with Prince Andrew in the house
Ms. Giuffre said that the said woman had not spoken publicly about her alleged ordeal and was not planning to.
She said, “I would say it is a mistake that her name is not redacted [by the court], but that doesn’t make it okay. ‘
The names of all those in Epstein’s circle, including Prince Andrew, were redacted, but previous records of Epstein victims, plus an index at the back of the papers, allow them to be identified.
In the documents, Prince Andrew repeatedly called his sex prosecutor Virginia Roberts “a liar” and claimed that “everything she said is a lie,” Maxwell said.
Shown in 2019, Roberts said she was 17 when she was ‘traded’ to Prince Andrew – a claim he firmly denies and has made for years.
Maxwell called Ms. Giuffre a “terrible fantasist” and asked lawyers if they “told all the lies” that the 37-year-old said.
Mrs. Giuffre said, “I have been nothing but transparent in all the years I have fought for justice.”
Her comments come as it was revealed that Epstein told Maxwell to offer a reward to anyone who could discredit Virginia Roberts after she accused them of rape.
In an email dated January 12, 2015, Epstein told Maxwell, “ You can spend a reward on all of Virginia friends, acquaintances, (sic) relatives who come forward to help prove her allegations false.
“The strongest is the dinner and the new version of the Virgin Islands that were practiced in a minor orgy.”
Maxwell explicitly denied giving anyone any reward for attempting to discredit Roberts by answering “absolutely no” when questioned.
Four years earlier, after Roberts claimed in an interview that she had slept with Prince Andrew when she was 17 – an allegation he has since denied – Maxwell and Epstein discussed their reactions in the media.
They discussed writing “a letter to the editor” – presumably from The Mail on Sunday, which was the first to publish Roberts’ claims – about the “age of consent.”
We need to think about the letter to the editor. School can be university. The age of consent in Florida is complex, ”the email said.
Epstein and Maxwell in 2005. The couple denied all of Roberts’ claims. Epstein died last year
It is unclear if these are Maxwell’s words or if they were written by someone else and she forwarded the email to Epstein.
The document says: ‘It is dated Friday, March 11, 2011 from Maxwell to Jeffrey with the title, Daily Mail and there is a message from [redacted] for you and a number of other individuals, that’s on the cover page. ‘
The email, written by someone else, continued, “ If you are 16 years old, having a sexual relationship with anyone between 18 and 24 is legal in Florida. Two persons between 16 and 24, Florida statute 794.05. A person of 24 years of age or older or older who engages in sexual activity with a person of 16 or 17 years of age is committing a second-degree crime.
“So once you turn 16, you can have sexual relations and you can have sexual relations with a minor under the age of 18 until the age of 24.”
More than 400 pages were made public for the first time on Thursday. Maxwell is currently in prison in New York awaiting trial for sex trafficking.
She repeatedly tried to block the files from being released.
