UFC fighters Amanda Nunes and Nina Ansaroff have revealed that they are expecting their first child together – a baby girl coming out in September.
Amanda, the 31-year-old reigning champion in the women’s bantamweight and featherweight divisions, and Nina, who is in fifth place in the women’s straw division, went to Instagram on Thursday to share the joyful news.
“I am pleased to announce that Baby Raegan Ann Nunes will be here mid-September! I can’t wait to meet her! “Nina, 34, wrote, adding that she is carrying their baby and will return to fighting after their daughter is born.”

In the photo Amanda has a pair of white baby shoes in her hand and she is posing with her arm around her old partner. Meanwhile, Nina holds up a baby girl’s navy and white gingham dress.

Both expectant mothers shine in front of the camera and as part of their post they also shared a 3-D ultrasound of their baby.
“I want to tell every person on this planet that … Raegan Ann Nunes will be here mid-September! I can’t wait to see her, “Amanda wrote.
Nina is about three months pregnant and Amanda has proudly shared a video of Nina’s ultrasound in February in her announcement post.
The couple met in 2012 in an MMA gym in Florida, and four years later Amanda became the first openly gay champion in UFC history when she defeated Miesha Tate and the bantamweight title.
When they became engaged in August 2018, they both shared Nina’s snapshots that show off her diamond ring.

The couple spoke about their desire to start a family in 2020 while they were talking TMZ in December for the new year.

Amanda and Nina said fellow UFC hunter and mother Mackenzie Dern had contacted them to congratulate them, and both noted that they were under the impression that she had only returned four months after the birth.

The couple knows that they want to get married and have children for the past three years. In 2016 Amanda told USA today Nina wants to carry a baby and they also have plans to adopt.
She also explained how their shared love of fighting has been an asset to her in the stake.
“Certainly, having a relationship with someone who understands what’s going on helps my fights,” Amanda said. But on the other hand, because we are fighters, it helps to make the relationship stronger.
‘We understand the work we do and we respect each other. We met by fighting and it brings us closer. If I reduce weight, she helps. This helped me to become a champion. ”
