Trinidad & Tobago’s cyberattack categorised as “nationwide safety risk”

Trinidad & Tobago’s Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has declared the current cyberattack on the Telecommunication Companies of Trinidad & Tobago (TSTT) a “nationwide safety risk.”

The breach has uncovered the private data of quite a few prospects, prompting a name to arms in opposition to the mounting digital risks.

Cybersecurity alert: TSTT falls sufferer to hackers

Stories are that final month, the nation’s telecommunications big, TSTT, discovered itself within the crosshairs of worldwide hackers often called Ransomexx.

In a stunning revelation, the hackers infiltrated TSTT’s techniques, unleashing a wave of ransomware and absconding with an estimated six gigabytes of delicate buyer knowledge.

The stolen trove consists of a wide selection of non-public data, akin to names, e-mail addresses, nationwide ID numbers, and telephone numbers, leaving a large number of shoppers grappling with the unsettling aftermath.
