Reason:
After three years of hiding in a remote monastery, Marian receives the news that King Richard the Lionheart has died. Her lover Robin Hood returns from the wars. As she leaves her sanctuary, she hurries to meet him, but they discover that everything is not as it seems. William De Wendenal, the disgraced sheriff of Nottingham, has returned from exile and is seeking revenge.
In ambush, Marian and Robin fight for their lives and flee, but Robin is badly wounded. Deep in the woods and miles away from help and chased by ruthless mercenaries, Marian must use all the skills she has available to keep Robin alive and get him to safety …
Reviews:
“There are one or two fine double-crosses along the way, but The Adventures of Maid Marion falls pretty flat, perhaps blamed on resources stretched too thin. The script gives the odd” begone! ” nun: “Jesus, Matilda!” And shame on the poor unprotected peasants in Nottingham: they barely get a peek inside. ” The Guardian
“Sophie Craig is a believable heroine […]And even though he does not have much to do, Jon Lee Pellet is a little John big enough to look convincing. The biggest problem with the casting in The Adventures of Maid Marian is Robin Hood himself. Dominic Andersen is far too bland and beautiful to be convincing in the role. ” 3.5 / 5 votes from the balcony
