Steven Spielberg has been given a restraining order against a woman who he says threatened to kill him.
The director, 73, previously filed legal documents calling for the restraining order against a woman named Sarah Char, TMZ reported on Tuesday.
Spielberg’s documents claimed he had been informed by police that Char had tried to buy a gun to kill him.

Spielberg’s filing also alleges that the woman had previously been arrested for intimidation, threats and stalking, although it was unclear whether he was her only target.
The filmmaker reported receiving a direct message on Twitter from Char reading, ‘If I personally have to KILL people for stealing my IPs,’ I WILL. Catch me? ‘
Spielberg said he feared for his safety in the reports, as well as that of his family members.
He married his wife Kate Capshaw in 1991, after she starred opposite Harrison Ford in his 1984 film Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom.

Spielberg was able to obtain a temporary restraining order requiring Char to stay at least 100 feet away from him at all times.
His wife and their daughter are also reportedly under the command, although it is unclear which of his daughters is protected by it, or whether Char should send as his other sons and daughters as well.
News of the Jurassic Park director’s restraining order comes a day after he announced that his manufacturing company Amblin had signed a multi-year distribution agreement with Universal.
Under the deal, which according to VarietyAmblin will make multiple movies each year for Universal to distribute and advertise, while Amblin will have a more direct pipeline for new shows and movies intended for streaming services.

After his stint at film school, Spielberg’s career as a director began in the late 1960s, working with a number of former Hollywood icons while directing them on television.
His 1971 television movie Duel became a surprising success, leading to an extensive theatrical release that was released internationally.
Spielberg is credited with creating the modern blockbuster with his 1975 thriller Jaws, which made an astounding $ 472 million on a $ 9 million budget.
He rounded off his 70s with the hit Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (1977).

In the 1990s, the director swung between similar blockbusters (Jurassic Park) and prestige dramas like Schindler’s List and the war movie Saving Private Ryan.
Spielberg’s next project is a new film adaptation of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim’s classic musical West Side Story, starring Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler.
