Realme releases a new smartphone, many AIoT products for launch in India

As a smartphone maker, Realme has already won quite a bit on the Indian market in the two years that the company has existed. But Realme isn’t just a smartphone company. The company has already entered audio, smart TV and wearable segments in India. The company is expected to launch several AIoT products soon, along with a new smartphone in India.

According to a report by TheMobileIndianRealme is gearing up to launch a new smartphone and four other non-smartphone AIoT products in India, including a smart lamp, a smart 360-degree home security camera, a 55-inch television, a wireless earphone with active noise cancellation and a TWS with noise cancellation.

The timing is spot on

Under pressure from the Chinese on the smartphone and smartwatch market, the South Korean tech giant Samsung recently announced that it is expanding its ‘Project Prism’. The project is designed to expand its product range in the growing segment of smart devices.

Given the lifestyle changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, Samsung hopes it would give them a better direction to become a leader in the home appliance industry. Lee Jae-Seung, the company’s head of home appliances, had posted on Samsung’s website that the future would revolve around re-aligning its business strategies around this industry with a view to providing consumers with a healthy and safe lifestyle after the pandemic.

Among all the Chinese tech companies in India, Realme has the advantage of owning a large share of the market, in addition to others such as Xiaomi, which also brought a few of its home appliances / lifestyle products to the country.

The report claims the launch is imminent and the company is expected to unveil these products in late this month or early October. All of the aforementioned products were announced at the Realme IFA 2020 event earlier this month.
