Paramount delays the release of A Quiet Place Part II indefinitely because of concerns about the spread of the new coronavirus. The film follows other major movie delays, including the upcoming James Bond thriller No time to die (delayed to November) and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (which was moved to August).
The delay of A Quiet Place Part II marks the most drastic movie cancellation yet, just eight days before its release. As noted by The Hollywood ReporterIs Tatiana Siegel on Twitterunlike the other delayed films, Paramount had already spent all of his marketing expenses to promote the film, which means postponing this film will be an even more expensive decision than No time to die or Peter Rabbit 2.
In a tweet announcing the delay, director John Krasinski noted that “due to the ever-changing circumstances of what is happening in the world around us, now is clearly not the time” to release the film.
