Ambulance service issue new statement
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 7:04 pm to an address in Hopedale Close, Coventry.
“We sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene.
“On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition. Staff administered advanced life support to the patient but sadly, despite their very best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased on scene.
“A woman at the property was treated for potentially serious injuries and she was transported to hospital for further treatment.”
