A Trump ally and close associate of Jared Kushner and Rudy Giuliani has been federally charged with harassment and cyberstalking following a routine FBI background check for a possible administration post.
Kenneth Kurson, 52, surrendered for arrest in Brooklyn on Friday after prosecutors said he assaulted three people online in 2015 while he was editor of the New York Observer and went through a messy divorce.
In the twisted case, Kurson is accused of using the online aliases “ Jayden Wagner ” and “ Eddie Train ” to harass three individuals he appeared to blame for his divorce, according to a federal complaint unsealed on Friday.
Kurson’s attorney, Marc L. Mukasey, told DailyMail.com in a statement: “Ken Kurson is an honorable man, a loving father and a brilliant writer. This case isn’t exactly the stuff of a federal criminal prosecution. He’ll come by. ‘

Prosecutors say Kurson was involved in a pattern of stalking and intimidation of the three victims between November 2015 and December 2015.
Kurson is an old friend of Kushner, who owned the Observer when Kurson topped the top, and a longtime associate of Giuliani’s, with whom he co-wrote a book.
The complaint identifies one victim as an employee of a news media outlet, and the other two are said to be working at Mt. Sinai Hospital, based on details reported previously.
According to the complaint, Kurson used multiple aliases to file false complaints about two of the victims with their employer, post false negative reviews about one victim’s professional behavior on crowd-sourced review websites, and make unsolicited contact with two of the victims. the victims.
A victim initially tried to iron things out, insisting in an email that he had nothing to do with the breakup of Kurson and his wife, the complaint said.
“Unfortunately, you have no one to blame but yourself,” the message read. “It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but true.”

In response, Kurson reportedly called the friend a ‘completely full s ** t fake who’s lying [their] teeth and is also dumb. ‘
Kurson traveled to the workplace of two of the victims several times, took photos and inquired about a victim’s work schedule, prosecutors say.
The allegations came to light during an FBI background investigation after the Trump administration offered Kurson a seat on the board of the National Endowment for the Humanities, a federal body that distributes grants to museums, libraries and other cultural institutions in 2018.
Kurson withdrew from the post after the allegations went public.
“Kurson is said to have been involved in a troubling pattern of retaliation that has intimidated and alarmed several victims and their employer,” acting United States lawyer DuCharme said in a statement.
“This agency is committed to protecting victims from malicious cyberstalking and apprehending criminals who try to rely on Internet anonymity to facilitate their crimes.”

Sweeney, deputy director of the FBI, said Kurson allegedly “ bullied his victims by attacking their character online and intimidating them by showing up at their workplace for no valid reason. ”
“The shadows of cyberspace may have provided him with some cover, but once his identity was revealed he no longer had the benefit of a virtual retreat,” added Sweeney.
According to the complaint, one of the victims underwent post-ordeal therapy, which the victims variously described as ‘traumatic’, ‘devilish’, ‘insane’ and ‘super scary’.
The hospital where two of the employees worked hired a security guard as a result of the alleged harassment, the complaint said.
