In a Diaspora Day message on June 16, he identified that the voluntary work being undertaken by diasporans helps the efforts that contribute to the event of Jamaica and the diaspora motion.

Diaspora Day was being celebrated below the theme ‘Optimistic vibrations: Connecting and Empowering Jamaicans at Dwelling and Overseas’. The Day is an annual commentary on June 16. It emerged from the primary Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Convention held in Kingston in 2004.
