How the Avengers & X-Men would kill each other was answered in Road To Judgment

Warning: Spoilers for free cartoon day: Avengers / X-Men # 1 ahead!

The way to Judgment Daythe latest big crossover from Marvel comicshas started in earnest as the new villain Moira X imagines how X men and Avengers could slaughter each other, in the sides of FCBD: Avengers / X-Men # 1. Since betraying the X-Men and being banished from her former home in Krakow, Moira is set on destroying the entire mutant cheek, and she simply does not care who she is in her crosshairs.

In one of the most surprising twists in recent Marvel comics, the once human ally of X-Men Moira MacTaggert was revealed to be a secret mutant in 2019’s House Xbefore it was revealed as a massive anti-mutant villain in the 2022s Hell, which saw Moira turned into a terrifying carnivorous cyborg. Moira now allies with the evil order of the anti-mutant organization Orchis and Thanos of the Eternals, and positions herself as one of the most horrific villains in the history of the X-Men and Avengers.

The story “Let’s talk about Krakoa” in FCBD: Avengers / X-Men # 1 special – written by current X men writer Gerry Duggan with art by the talented Matteo Lolli – follows Moira as she begins to set in motion a series of events that she hopes will lead to humanity turning against the mutants and Krakoa being destroyed. The event AX: Doomsday has been building for several months as it has been slowly revealed that the mutantrace is actually a kind of “excess deviation,” similar to the deviant’s metamorphosis, meaning that the Eternals are closely associated with their heavenly programming to slaughter them. Like the upcoming one Hellfire Gala arrives Judgment Day ominously threatens over the festivities, where several anti-mutant opponents are set to attack, leading to the Avengers having to step in to protect the Krakoans. However, Moira hopes the Avengers will does not side with the mutants, and will instead find out about the mutants’ secrets about resurrections, and side with “humanity”, hoping to annihilate the mutants before they can gain supremacy over the planet, which is Moira’s biggest fear.

In an ominous daydream about her, Moira imagines the two groups coming to each other’s necks, and we see several fights in which members of the two groups brutally murder each other, in line with Eternals’ new “Death to the Mutants” messages . Moira’s vision of the potential future, only possible “If I play my cards right, sees Wolverine kill Iron Man, lightly stroking through his armor with his adamantium claws, while Thor lands a devastating blow on Cyclops and kills him instantly. In the two most intense deaths, Magneto suffocates Captain America with his own shield by using his magnetism to end the Sentinel of Liberty’s life, while Captain Marvel ceremoniously snaps Rogue’s neck and puts an end to their long feud and friendship. For these deaths must mean anything it would mean that the mutant’s ability to resurrect must be endangered, otherwise X-Man’s death would mean nothing, suggesting that part of Moira’s plan is to expose the resurrection protocols at the Hellfire Gala and potentially destroy the mutants’ ability to be revived. .

Moira makes it clear that their immortality is what is so dangerous and threatening about mutant supremacy, and that she will use their ability to re-emerge as a way to ignite the flames of the Avengers and Eternals battle with the X-Men, eventually leading to Judgment Day. As Moira notes in the cartoon, is Avengers and X men have fought before, actually quite often, but neither have it ever really beat the others … but FCBD: Avengers / X-Men # 1 shows that Moira hopes that her evil intrigues will be able to exploit the differences between the two groups of heroes and make them kill each other brutally.
