Holness says Jamaican Gov’t is not going to socialize debt of failed monetary establishments


The Jamaican authorities has no intention of socializing the debt of failed monetary establishments, says Prime Minister Andrew Holness.

Delivering the keynote deal with on the opening of the Jamaica Inventory Change (JSE) Funding and Capital Markets Convention, he stated the total drive of the legislation should be dropped at bear within the case of alleged multibillion-dollar fraud at Shares and Securities Restricted (SSL).

“The Authorities is not going to ….socialize the failure of our banks to be prudential and to guard their clients,” he acknowledged.
