Elizabeth Olsen is reacting to rumors about her Marvel contract

Wanda Maximoff has undoubtedly become one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, hugely helped by Elizabeth Olsen’s incredible performance. The actress first graced the screens as Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultronbut her collaboration has since continued for five more projects, including the latest blockbuster Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness.

Olsen is far from the only Hollywood star to return to recurring appearances at MCU. Actors often sign deals for multiple pictures on major studio series, and Marvel is no different. In particular, Samuel L. Jackson signed a ten-project contract with Marvel Studios for his role as Nick Fury.

This is certainly true of Elizabeth Olsen, who previously revealed that her original contract only covered two films and a cameo, and has since extended her contract each time Marvel had a different story for Wanda to appear in. With her sixth Marvel appearance now in luggage, Olsen has talked about the state of her Marvel contract in a recent interview.

“I do not know in what capacity I will return. I do not know how to do it without, I do not want spoilers.”

“Someone just said, ‘because you’re downloading X-Men, Wanda is part of the X-Men series. Why can’t Wanda be there too?” In my mind I think, ‘Yes. Why can’t Wanda be with X-Men too? ‘

Olsen said that even though she had no idea where Wanda could go next time “will be there if there is a good idea:”

“I have no idea. I do not know what I want. I know I want it to matter. There is no reason to keep telling these stories unless they are really strong, good stories and that they adds something to the whole MCU. I’ll be there if there’s a good idea. “

Will Scarlet Witch return to the MCU?

The end of Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness was quite ambiguous about the fate of the Scarlet Witch. Marvel Studios could easily offer Olsen another contract extension to bring her insanely popular character back to MCU, but since the actress has not signed a multi-project deal, another appearance is as Wanda is not guaranteed.

Either way, it’s clear that Olsen is eager to return to her role as Wanda, and there are plenty of places her character can show up next time. The actress has mentioned that she would be eager to reunite Wanda with Paul Bettany’s White Vision on screen as his character’s journey remains unfinished after the events of WandaVision.

That The house of M storyline is another idea that many Marvel fans would love to see come true. Marvel Studios director Kevin Feige has confirmed that mutants are on their way to MCU, but how or when they show up is still unknown.

Olsen has previously said she would be very excited to bring an iconic X-Men line to life at MCU. Since Scarlet Witch has appeared in both the Avengers and X-Men series within the comics, it would make sense for her to have something to do with the mutants in the future.

Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness is in theaters now.
