Daydreaming can Balance Creativity with Character

I day dream. I day dream every day of the week, twice on Sundays. The truth is daydreaming passes my time aside of work and can be a very productive activity.

Wikipedia, the online free encyclopedia defines it this way;

“Daydreaming is the stream of consciousness that detaches from current external tasks when attention drifts to a more personal and internal direction. “

Daydreaming about the past is fun and even a healthy thing to do if it helps to ground us in the great lessons we have learned. Experience is the greatest teacher alive and dreaming about your past could help you become a better person in days to come. However, it can be harmful to our progress if we live in the past by constant daydreaming of what could have been. Dreams is a topic of massive interest with a web-search I did recently producing over 900,000,000 pages of information.

I have often found that when I share my dreams for the future with others the response I get falls into two categories. Those who support my vision and those who politely dismiss my musings as no more than pipe dreams. I wish I could say that the first group outnumbers the second but that is not the case. I can’t lie as a writer here. It is tough to land a writing job anyways. :/

The importance of dreams

I want to remind the readers of five actions to take when exploring the potential of your dreams.

As I said at the beginning I love daydreaming but not just for the escape it provides from reality. Daydreams are a wonderful source of new creative ideas. It is amazing what can be done with a little creativity and hard work. I daydreamed this article. What about your daydreams – are you just passing time dreaming or are you ready to put those ” fantasies about future scenarios or plans ” into action!
