The La Liga side have already signed one player from City this year as Barcelona brought Ferran Torres, with the likes of Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling also linked with a move to Guardiola’s former club.

Yet one player who seemingly will not be making the move is Gundogan, who looks determined to remain with City and sign a new contract with the club to continue his legacy with the Manchester giants.

Gundogan might not be a guaranteed starter in the City XI this season, but there’s no denying the midfielder’s impact on the club since Guardiola made the German his first signing when arriving in 2016.

Indeed, Gundogan has been crucial to City’s rise under Guardiola since his appointment six years ago, and tying the midfielder down to a new contract will be important for the club’s future when the Catalan coach eventually leaves at the end of his current deal.
