Belize Police Commissioner open to SOE to take care of upsurge in murders

Belize Police Commissioner Chester Williams says there are individuals hell-bent on terrorizing their communities and he isn’t ruling out requesting a state of emergency (SOE) to take care of the upsurge in murders in Belize.

Williams stated he has already directed the police to do “sure issues within the completely different areas to see how we are able to quell the feud,” notably amongst warring gangs.

The authorities have organized a number of sporting and different initiatives in response to gangs and Chester Williams stated he shall be assembly with the related minister to resolve “what course of actions shall be taken in opposition to these teams inflicting the flare-ups.”
