Ariana Grande reveals new album to be called Positions and will be out in two weeks … with the eponymous first single out NEXT FRIDAY
Ariana Grande’s upcoming album and lead single will both be called Positions.
A counting down clock on her website indicates that the single will be released next Friday and the full record will be released the following Friday.
The 27-year-old hinted at the title on Saturday with a cryptic Instagram video in which she typed the word ‘positions’ on a keyboard.

Her next studio album will be her sixth overall, and the third she just dropped in the past two and a half years.
Ariana’s fourth studio album Sweetener came out two years and two months ago, on August 18, and in a burst of activity she recorded Thank U, Next in October.
Thank U, Next was Ariana’s critically acclaimed hit breakup album, released in the wake of her broken engagement to Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson.
While engaged, Ariana was devastated by the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller from an accidental overdose at the age of just 26.

Thank U, Next was a resounding success, making Ariana the first act since The Beatles to hit the Billboard Hot 100 top three in one go.
She has released very little information about the follow-up, but tweeted Wednesday, ‘I can’t wait to get you my album this month.’
Ariana has continued making music amid the pandemic, including the lockdown-themed duet single Stuck With U with Justin Bieber, which she dropped in May.
While promoting the single to Zane Lowe from Apple Music, she said she had no plans to release a new album, but apparently has changed her mind.

That same month she performed another duet single called Rain On Me, this one for Lady Gaga’s new album Chromatica.
The smoldering sensation has set up recording equipment at her home so she can continue to work in her self-isolation.
Last year, Ariana sang with the legendary Queen Of Funk Chaka Khan on the song Nobody before the flop Charlie’s Angels movie by Elizabeth Banks.
During a recent interview on VladTV Luenell asked about the possibilities of working with Ariana again and Chaka said plainly that she was not interested.

Luenell gleefully called her a ‘boss b ***’ after her answer and Chaka said, ‘I’m not going to do a song without a heifer.’
But in the same interview she said, ‘She’s a great singer. She is also her own planet. Her own planet, and you know, she’s great. I understand her. I got her. I love her. Bam. ‘
