The Albuquerque Journal has named Andy Smith as interim enterprise editor.
Matthew Narvaiz of The Journal writes, “Smith, who most just lately served because the Journal’s assistant editorial web page editor, assumes his new position Monday. He replaces Gabrielle Porter, who moved into a brand new place with the Journal at the start of the 12 months.
“Raised in Farmington, Smith started his profession in journalism in 1991 when he coated courts and schooling for the Rio Grande Solar in Española. He had stints at different newspapers in Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina and Colorado.
“A graduate of New Mexico State College with a bachelor’s diploma in journalism, Smith mentioned he’s excited to begin in his new position and interact with enterprise leaders in Albuquerque and throughout the state.”
