Father kills teen son in case of mistaken id

A 51-year-old Jamaican man fatally shot his 15-year-old son in an alleged case of mistaken id at their dwelling in Hellshire, St Catherine on Wednesday morning.

The teenager, Raheem Shaw, who attended Wolmer’s Boys’ Faculty, was mistaken for somebody making an attempt to interrupt into his home within the Cave Hill neighborhood.

In keeping with police experiences, at about 3:15 am, the household was asleep at dwelling when Raheem’s mom reported listening to the entrance gate and grille to the premises being opened. She alerted her husband, who’s a licensed firearm holder.

Police experiences are that he retrieved his licensed 9mm firearm and went into the lounge the place reported listening to the entrance door being opened and fired three rounds.

The person later came upon that he had shot his son.

The injured teen was taken to the Spanish City Hospital the place he died.

The daddy’s licensed firearm has been seized.
