Simplyhealth invests significantly in Ampersand Health
The UK’s leading provider of health and dental care plans, Simplyhealth, has announced that it has invested in Ampersand, a provider of digital therapies for inflammatory conditions.
This collaboration will help accelerate the adoption of digital therapies in the UK, reduce outpatient appointments, improve health outcomes and reduce unplanned hospital visits for patients suffering from a wide range of inflammatory conditions.
Ampersand helps clinicians and patients deal with and monitor chronic, inflammatory diseases such as Crohn’s, arthritis and psoriasis. Founded less than four years ago and rapidly scaled, the organization works with scientists, clinicians, and dozens of leading NHS trusts to implement behavioral science interventions that improve quality of life and mental health; and to implement “hospital at home” courses that increase hospital capacity by 30-50% and reduce emergency visits by 89%.
This revolutionary technology has been developed in collaboration with Barts Health and King’s College Hospital NHS Trusts, with support from Innovate UK, NHSX and a number of national charities.
