MLB suspends Josh Donaldson for Tim Anderson’s ‘Jackie’ remark
Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson has been suspended for one match and will be fined for using racist language against White Sox shortstop star Tim Anderson, according to The Posts Jon Heyman.
Anderson revealed after Saturday’s match that Donaldson had called him “Jackie”, which he believed was a racially charged reference to Jackie Robinson. Donaldson insisted he was just kidding and that it was a reference to when Anderson called himself “today’s Jackie Robinson” in a Sports Illustrated feature.

The league officially joined a majority of the baseball world by not buying Donaldson’s apology when they handed down the suspension on Monday.
Donaldson will appeal the suspension. He was also added to COVID-19 IL earlier in the day.
