3.8 magnitude earthquake reported in Kingston, Jamaica


An estimated magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported at 2:06 pm in Jamaica on Sunday, in keeping with the island’s Earthquake Unit on the College of the West Indies.

Its epicenter was roughly 10 kilometres south of Hope Bay, Portland. Residents in some communities in and round Kingston reportedly felt the tremor. No injury or accidents have been reported.

That is the fourth main quake reported on the island since September. The most important earthquake in latest months occurred on October 30 and had a magnitude of 5.4.

It was mentioned to be the biggest earthquake on the island in 30 years. Minor injury have been reported in some communities on the jap facet of the island, and a few 70 aftershocks occurred in its aftermath.
